VIP special train for Kinder, family and guests

Friday 1st July 2016

A special train operated from London Liverpool Street conveying Kinder, their family, VIPs, school groups and other guests to and from Harwich.
This was a comfortable modern electric train.
The planned steam train did not operate in 2016 due to not reaching the required minimum numbers, but we do hope to operate this on a future occasion.

London Liverpool Street £ 50.00 *

Cancellation terms: up to 30 days before travel: 20%; within 29 days of travel: 100%.

Special notes

The standard class £ 50 fare was symbolic as the same amount required by the UK government in 1938-39 from a foster family for each child as a bond to cover the costs of eventual repatriation. This money, equivalent to around £ 3,000 today, in effect saved each life.

All proceeds beyond direct operating costs have gone to help children who are displaced or uprooted by persecution, war or threat of war in the 21st Century, we will publish details here as soon as figures are finalised.
